I displayed my ticket while shopping in john lewis , the next day we went on holiday only to return to a 100 pounds fine. I contacted brittania parking who said they couldn't match my number plate on their system, i sent them proof of payment from my bank account, which they still wouldnt except , but reduced it to 20 pounds which i thought was very big of them /thats a joke. I felt so stressed over the whole experience i paid the 20 pounds , i still cant understand why i had to pay anything atall, avoid this car park at all costs its not worth it. Like other customers that have written here i have been a loyal customer of john lewis for over 30 years, not anymore if this is how they allow their customers to be treated and i cant see anywhere on here where they have even bothered to respond or find out what sort of activity is taking place in their car park ,this is even after i spoke to them in store again shame on you.
I have just received £100 fine through the post for getting back to my car 23 mins late on 8th July. I’m outraged! I spent £100’s in the store that day however JL has just fobbed me off and said take it up with Britannia! Sorry JL, you have lost a loyal customer! Outraged !
I hope John Lewis realise they are going to lose many customers through this ridiculous unpopular system. I took my mum to shop in John Lewis and she has a disabled badge. There are not enough spaces in the road for disabled parking and it was not clear on the tarrif instructions the policy for blue badge holders. I believed therefore that as there were no disabled spaces in the car park we could park displaying the blue badge as in most other cars parks. Surprise surprise we have been issued with a penalty charge and although I have appealed stating my mother is disabled they are insisting we pay the charge or go to court. Utterly disgusting we will not take the chance of driving all the way to WGC now in case there are no disabled parking spaces available as I am not going to entertain this rip off of a parking company.
Dreadful. Why get rid of a perfectly good system and employ a person and replace with electronic digital nightmare. Avoid at all costs. Shame on you John Lewis.
Avoid. I correctly bought a ticket, then several weeks later (after throwing the ticket away unfortunately) I got a fine. This is the second time I've parked here with Britannia and second time I've correctly paid and received a fine. Its obviously broken, and they obviously couldn't be bother to fix it but collect fines instead. (I cant leave zero stars which is what I would give it)
I agree with the first review absolute scammers. Have had so many notices but have correctly paid each time. Absolutely furious.
Avoid. Park, pay on arrival, 15 minute queue because machine is so dreadful to use, tried a number of credit cards, finally it worked, then got a parking ticket in the post. Total scam. Hope the chap in the booth retired rather than was let go to be replaced by these scammers! .
This car park is run by scammers. Never ever dispose of your ticket will never shop at this store again
Shame I can't put 0 stars. So annoyed, got two tickets from John Lewis car park. Struggled to pay at the pay machine, no much explanation how to use, didn't accept my debit card, so I assumed machine not working. And today received two tickets to pay. Definitely won't be doing shopping at John Lewis ever again.
Machine would not work. On eventually adding card details received an email to say I am now a member of mediacraze.net and first 5 days are free! They now have my card details an dI am having to go through fraud division with my bank. DO NOT park here. Bring back the gentleman that used to sit in the booth. Never had a problem then. Will not be going back to John Lewis :-(
Parked. Went to machine. Would not accept my card either contactless or with pin. Machine does not accept cash. Had to park elsewhere because could not use app on mobile. Other people upset because they felt that because of the number camera then they would be charged later if they parked elsewhere. A complete waste of time. Discourages people from visiting John Lewis.
Always a satisfactory experience parking here.
Parking has now become a stressful experience at John Lewis since the introduction of the new system. Such a shame they changed it from the man in the booth. Often find myself being pressured by (sometimes angry) drivers to enter the car park when you don't know if there are spaces available, only to find others driving in behind you and it's a free for all who can get a spot first. The payment machines are slow and people often struggle to use them. Much preferred the straightforward, fair system before, monitoring one car in one car out.
What an absolute mess...since the removal of the keoisk attendant parking at John Lewis is a nightmare...I found myself driving around the car park looking for a space and then once parked you pay on arrival. The que at the pay machine was 5 deep no one knew how to.opperate the machine as most of the people in the queue were elderly . Bring back the old system with the loverly guy in the keoisk ...what happend to him ???
I wanted to park but asked the attendant if it was pay by card or cash an he said card, now i find out i could have paid cash as i do not own a card. Disgraceful
